When very young, I was trained and worked in accounting for international corporations learning and enjoying American and European cultures. But at heart, I was in the arts. Gladly, I found the opportunity to attend art schools, learning drawing and painting in Bogotá, London and Singapore while raising a family and supporting my husband career as a geologist. Years later, our family settled in the USA, 1987, Houston, Texas, where I studied photography. It became my medium of expression and profession, working as a freelancer for the Houston Chronicle and in my studio doing people’s portraiture.
After my husband retired, 2004, we relocated in Denver. I joined Working with Artists where I served on the board. This organization merged with Colorado Photographic Arts, https://cpacphoto.org/. Finding a new voice, a new perspective in photography, I decided to focus more on photography as art and less on the commercial aspects. While in Denver I have had great experiences photographing Wonderbound dance company’s rehearsals, Denver Film Festival yearly events, and our environment. Every season I am enthralled photographing the mountains of Colorado and its parks, as well as my favorite Denver sites.
At present, we have moved back to Texas, waiting to see how I continue in the arts. Recently, I went to Big Bend National Park, revisiting its captivating landscape. While in the locality, I also visited Marfa, a town focused in art after Donald Judd created his art installations.
